Transition Bath have secured a year long agreement with the Hughes family in Bathampton to begin a CSA project with the Bathampton and surrounding area community. The Soil Association defines CSA as a partnership between farmers and consumers where the risks and rewards are shared. There are many possible models and features, and the successful CSAs develop into their final form rather than replicating a project from elsewhere. Community Supported Agriculture projects are taking shape across the country and this will be Bath's first. You can visit the Dry Arch Growers' website at http://bathamptoncsa.wordpress.com/. If you are interested in finding out some more information about local CSA projects please see the following links: http://www.thecommunityfarm.co.uk/ in Bristol, http://www.simshillsharedharvest.wordpress.com/ Bristol, http://www.thornburycsa.org.uk/ Thornbury and http://www.stroudcommunityagriculture.org/ in Stroud. You can also consider a book called Local Food by Tamzin Pinkerton which gives details of a variety of different food projects happening all over the country.
