Projects - what's going on
Transition Bath hopes that the many and varied events that we organise will inspire Bathonians to become involved and participate in the move towards sustainable communities. Our projects - created and run by volunteers - enable you to get involved:
Bath Green Homes
An Open Homes weekend in April 2013 to showcase inspiring examples of energy saving homes in partnership with Bath Preservation Trust and B&NES Council.
Guerrilla Gardening
Join us to turn Bath's unused patches of land into thriving community vegetable gardens.
The Bath Oliver
Transition Bath Economy Group has teamed up with the BathLETS (Local Exchange Trading Scheme) in order to print a local currency called the Oliver.
The Community Nuttery at Smallcombe
In partnership with the National Trust, Transition Bath Food Group has established a flourishing community nuttery on the edge of Bath.
Dry Arch Growers
A Community Supported Agriculture project in Bathampton now producing its own veg boxes.
Bath & West Community Energy
We are very proud that this recently launched sustainable energy co-operative came out of Transition Bath's energy group.
Chelsea Road Walking Access
A project from our Transport & Built Environment Group to investigate the current access to and use of Chelsea Road and how this can be encouraged.
Schools Energy
Creative ways to improve the performance of our school buildings, to cut carbon and boost schools' funds.
FareShare
FareShare utilises quality surplus food from all areas of the food industry and delivers it to local charities that are registered, ensuring that good food isn’t wasted, but redistributed to vulnerable people in the community.
Local Running Adventure
Getting out and about in Bath, running, walking and cycling. Exploring new routes, exploring ideas of how to train in low carbon local ways and raise funds for Transition Bath at the Bath Half 2013.
